Setting Up Categories...
The below information also appears in the help icons inside the Category Admin.
Category Rows and Columns Sub-Cat Columns
The Category ROWS
and COLUMNS are used to setup the way you want your
products to be displayed for this category.
The Sub-Cat Columns setting
is used to determine how many columns across you want the sub category
links to display with in a parent category. The default setting
for this is 1.
For Products
If no columns or one columns are defined - the system will display all the
detailed information including the options and order buttons for your items
on the category page. Your item thumbs will be linked to a pop up window
to display the large item image. This is a good setting for categories
that have few items and items with few options.
If a number is entered
into the column box the system will show the item thumbnail and
short description linked to the detail of that item. You define
how many thumbnails you want to show across the page by the column
setting.
Columns
X Rows sets how many thumbnails are displayed per page.
For instance a setting of 5
Rows and 2 Columns would display 10 products per page. If more
than 10 products are entered in the category the Next & Previous
page links will show up to allow the visitor to browse through
the category.
About Mutli Product Pages
You may define a category as a Multi Product page. This will display multiple products with one order button. This allows the shopper to add several products to their cart with one click!
However, please be careful you can not display more than 30 products per page when using the Multi Product Page option.
You may control the amount of products displayed by limiting the columns and rows for the category.
For instance a setting of
10 Rows
3 columns
would allow the category page to display up to 30 products.
If more than 30 products are entered into the category the next link would appear allowing the visitor to page through the item listing.
About Order Button On Thumbnail Page
- This setting will display products with
their options on the thumbnail page. DO NOT use this setting
in conjunction with the Multi-Product page setting.
- When the visitor clicks on the thumbnail for the image they will
be brought to the detail page with the large image and long description
for the item.
About Category Discounts
- To ADD a new category
discount, just click the "Add" button
under the Category Discounts, choose the name of the category from
the drop down list,configure the percentage and ending date and
give the discount a name.
- To EDIT a category discount,
select the discount from the drop-down box and click "Edit". Update the name of your discount, the precentage or ending date. Click "Edit Discount".
Your information has been saved.
- To DELETE a Category Discount,
select it from the drop-down box and click "Delete". When the system asks you if you are sure you want to delete the discount, select "Yes".
You can add, edit or delete Category Discounts at any time. If you edit or delete a discount, it will automatically be edited or deleted from any products under which that category is listed.
About Wholesale Discounts
Enter the percentage discount wholesale accounts will recieve once they login. This will be applied to all products and their options in this category. Wholesalers will not receive the regular category discount if items are put on sale. Return to Index
